Frenship Memorial High School Names Head Girls Golf Coach

Frenship ISD is proud to welcome Gregg Ammons as the new Head Girls Golf Coach at Frenship Memorial High School. With an impressive 36 years in education and athletics, Coach Ammons brings extensive leadership experience to the Frenship Memorial team.

Ammons has served 28 years in leadership and administrative positions including serving as a superintendent, principal, and girls coordinator. He has also spent 10 years as a head coach in girls basketball and golf, leading teams to 3 state titles and 12 state tournament appearances. As an administrator, Ammons has been part of 19 state championship programs, demonstrating a consistent record of excellence and program-building throughout his career.

“I have great excitement in starting a new program in a new high school,” said Ammons. “I am most excited about building relationships with the kids and helping them reach their full potential.”

Coach Ammons has strong ties to education and athletics. His wife, Tinese, has served as the Library Media Specialist at Frenship Middle School for 19 years. Together, they have two children, Austin and Shanae, and three granddaughters, Karsyn, Avery, and Corey. Austin is an assistant principal at Trinity Christian High School and is married to Kaitlyn, a former player of Coach Ammons. Shanae is a physical therapist in Fort Worth. Both Austin and Shanae were standout athletes, earning All-State honors in golf, with Shanae also recognized in basketball.

Frenship ISD is excited to welcome Coach Ammons to the Frenship family and looks forward to the legacy he will build at Frenship Memorial High School.
