Frenship Memorial High School

Frenship ISD Hosts CTE Signing Day

Frenship’s Career and Technical Education program, or CTE, prepares successful college and career-bound students for high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand jobs. With more than 90 CTE courses, students can explore career options and develop occupational skills through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory work, and on-the-job training.

“We prepare students for future careers by simulating authentic work environments on campus, providing students with practicum opportunities with local business and industry partners, and enhancing their overall employability skills to enter the workforce,” said Ira Florez, Frenship ISD CTE Coordinator. “Many of these students have already earned industry-recognized certifications, giving them an advantage as they graduate high school.”

This year’s CTE Signing Day was sponsored by the Wolfforth Economic Development Center. Their support helped Frenship celebrate the students’ success in front of their friends, family, peers, and representatives from different industries. While students such as these don’t traditionally get a “signing day”, Danielle Sweat, the Executive Director of the Wolfforth EDC, says it’s important to recognize this group and how they’ll go on to impact our community and surrounding areas.

“These students are valued in the community because they are what keep our community going on a daily basis,” said Sweat. “CTE programs are the bridge between education and workforce, fueling local economies with skilled, job-ready talent. That’s why the Wolfforth EDC proudly supports Frenship ISD’s CTE programs.”
