Coach Madison Martin joins the Frenship family from Abilene Wylie, where she began her career in education and high school coaching five years ago. During her time at Wylie, the girls soccer program advanced to the 5A playoffs every year. In 2024, her team went undefeated in district play, earning the title of District Champions, and Coach Martin was honored as the District 4-5A Coach of the Year.
Before coaching at the high school level, Coach Martin served as a graduate assistant at Hardin-Simmons University and also coached club soccer in the Abilene area. While at HSU, her staff was named the 2018 United Soccer Coaches West Region Staff of the Year.
As a student-athlete, Martin played one year of collegiate soccer at Texas Tech University before transferring to Hardin-Simmons University, where she finished her athletic career. During her three seasons with the Cowgirls, the team made two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances and ended her senior season in the NCAA Final Four.
“I’m excited to be back in this part of the world and into another environment that strives for competitive excellence on and off the field,” said Coach Martin.
She shared that the move to Frenship was a family decision sparked by her husband’s new position.
“What sparked our family's move to Frenship was my husband's job opportunity. He was hired to be the Offensive Coordinator here at Frenship Memorial. Once I heard that the girls soccer position was open as well, I immediately applied. The opportunity to build a new program from the ground up is a unique and exciting opportunity, especially at a district with as great a reputation as Frenship. I'm thankful to be the one trusted to start this program, and I can't wait to meet and start working with the girls,” said Coach Martin.
Coach Martin and her family are excited to be part of the Frenship community.
“Our growing family is thrilled to join the growing family at Frenship Memorial. We are expecting a baby girl this summer and have a 3-year-old son who can't stop talking about the move to the ‘panther house, ’” said Coach Martin.
Frenship ISD is proud to welcome Madison Martin to the Panther family and is excited for the passion and leadership she will bring as she builds the girls soccer program at Frenship Memorial High School.
