Memorial High School Celebrates Inaugural Superintendent’s Academic Excellence Banquet

Hosted at South Plains Electric Cooperative, the banquet honored the first Top 10 class in Memorial High School history. Family members, teachers, district leaders, and community partners gathered to recognize the students for their dedication, leadership, and academic success.

Memorial High School Principal Chelsey Campbell addressed students and families, emphasizing the unique role the students have played in shaping the identity and culture of the new campus.

“At most schools, honors like these rest on decades of tradition,” Campbell said. “But at Memorial, we didn’t inherit a legacy. We built one. Every challenge these students pushed through has helped shape something bigger than any single moment.”

Students recognized during the banquet included:

  1. Grady Thomson
  2. Alexis Shores
  3. Angie Le
  4. Layan Altabaa (tie)
  5. Adalyn Trumble (tie)
  6. Adalynn Brown
  7. Caliana Lugisse
  8. Ambry Baker
  9. Justin Miller
  10. Carmela Alvarez (tie)
  11. Gwen Rasmussen (tie)

Throughout the evening, district leaders recognized the support systems behind the students’ success, including parents, teachers, counselors, and campus staff.
